Indonesian Hero: Marie Thomas
Hi hello fellas, I'm so long to write a new blog so I can greet you like I always did ☺️👋 So for this entry, I want to tell you all about my favorite hero, Marie Thomas. Marie Thomas is the first physician of women in Indonesia. She founded the first midwifery school in Sumatra and became the first doctor who introduced the new contraceptive method in Indonesia as IUD. Marie Thomas was born in Likupang, North Sulawesi on February 17, 1896. While a child, he had moved to the area of his parents. At that time a first women's pharmacist in the Netherlands, Charlotte Jocobs supported Marie to get a scholarship for the Indonesian doctor's prospective. At that time Marie had just graduated from an European school in Manado. In 1912, Marie was accepted at the School of Training of Natural Physicians (Stovia).
